Beginner Surf Lessons
Always dreamed of learning to surf? Tamarindo offers warm waters and friendly waves, perfect for beginners. At Explora Guanacaste, we provide personalized lessons in small groups (2-3 students per instructor) to ensure you get the attention you need.
We start with a beach session covering safety, technique, and surfing etiquette, followed by 90 minutes of hands-on practice in the water. Our goal is to help you have fun while learning to stand up and catch your first waves.

Kids Program – Mini Surfers
Sharing the passion for surfing with kids is one of the greatest joys. Inspired by our daughter Melissa, who caught her first wave at just 11 months old, we created the Mini Surfers program—a fun and safe way for children to learn how to surf.
Tamarindo is the perfect place for little surfers to start. Its gentle waves and warm waters make it ideal for kids aged 4 and up who can swim and feel comfortable in the ocean.
Intermediate Surf Coaching & Tours
If you have some surfing experience and want to take your skills to the next level, our 4-hour intermediate tours take you to some of the best surf breaks near Tamarindo, carefully chosen based on the day’s conditions.
We provide transportation from your hotel, or you can follow us if you have a rental car. It’s the perfect way to improve your technique, build confidence, and discover less crowded spots with local guides.
Advanced Surf Coaching & Special Tours
